Stacie Berdan

Stacie is a seasoned global executive with 15 years of international experience, who has turned this global success into a new career as author, speaker and expert on international careers. A prolific writer and engaging speaker on succeeding in the global marketplace, Stacie has inspired thousands of people to pursue their global passions.

Stacie brings a unique perspective to the table as a female leader with international experience in these dynamic times. Focusing on the elements of globalization, she provides practical and relevant advice to succeed in the global marketplace within the context of an increasingly global and virtual workplace. Stacie has served as coach, counselor, strategist and adviser to CEOs, politicians and senior executives around the world. Her cross-cultural consulting experiences enable her to work well with a diverse mixture of professionals across industry, seniority level, nationality and gender.

Stacie spent the majority of her career at Burson-Marsteller and Unilever. She has lived and worked in Miami, Washington, D.C., New York and Hong Kong, and her professional responsibilities have spanned more than 50 countries in Asia-Pacific, Europe and North and South America.

Stacie tackles the issues of globalization on many fronts and offers a journalist’s research-based approach combined with personal stories from her own and others’ lives to bring the examples to life. In her first book, the award-wining Get Ahead By Going Abroad, she highlights the benefits of feminine leadership and the rapid rise of women working around the world.

She provides step-by-step advice to students and young professionals on how to prepare for global career success in her second book, Go Global! Launching an International Career Here or Abroad (2011). And in her next book, she offers a detailed how-to for students (and their parents) interested in making the most of a study abroad experience in The Study Abroad Guide (May 2013).

Global awareness needs to begin earlier, however, and so in her upcoming book on Raising Global Children (due out in 2013), Stacie advocates for the importance of global education beginning at a very young age and to be infused throughout our education system so that our children better understand the world in which we live – and they grow up in.

Called on regularly for expert advice, Stacie’s numerous broadcast appearances include NBC “Weekend Today,” NPR’s “Marketplace,” ABC News “Money Matters” and “America This Morning”, CNN International, several FOX appearances, including International and “Money for Breakfast”, and her work has been featured in The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, USA Today, Forbes, Fortune, Time and many others.

Stacie blogs regularly for the Huffington Post and on her site
